Volume Studio designed this simple electronic learning toy for the Baby Einstein brand. The challenge was to create a clean, unique product design that was safe and easy to use for kids 6 months and up. Through multiple iterations, we landed on this soft triangular form that was able to combine all of the functional elements into a clean, efficient design.
"Squeeze the colored handle to see the corresponding hue light up in the kaleidoscope dome. Baby will hear the name of the color as she sees the toy glow! Experiment with color mixing by grabbing two handles at once. A musical soundtrack will keep baby’s attention as she discovers primary and secondary colors through cause and effect learning. Encourage cognitive development through play!" |

Volume Studios worked with Kids II to develop a new VBL for their Baby Einstein brand of toys. Below are some examples of sketch concept proposals of potential aesthetic directions, featuring ways to incorporate wood materials into the products. Following these phases, we also focused on multiple common details - switches, buttons, speaker grilles, etc. - that would tie the whole product line together with a family look.
