Our team was entrusted with one of the most critical areas of the design: the handlebar assembly. This included everything from the ergonomic grip design that ensures comfort and control, to the intuitive speed control interface that makes acceleration seamless, to the head unit and integrated headlight that define both the scooter’s usability and its visual identity.
As the rest of the scooter evolved, the design themes we established in the handlebar and headlight assembly became a guiding influence, setting the tone for the form language and detailing across the entire vehicle. What began as a focused assignment grew into a design contribution that helped unify the scooter’s aesthetic and functional character. From the earliest rough concept sketches to the final surfacing CAD data, the Volume team carried these components through every stage of development. The result was a cohesive design that not only elevated the rider experience but also reinforced Bird’s vision of creating a scooter that feels premium, intuitive, and unmistakably modern. |
